What this role covers

Operate a late-model automatic day cab tractor and 53-ft van trailer on local shuttle runs throughout the day across the St. Louis metro area. Multiple loads per day; predictable local routes, home every night.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip DVIR on tractor and trailer
  • Operate ELD/digital logging system per FMCSA regulations
  • Shuttle loaded and empty 53-ft van trailers throughout the metro area
  • Spot, drop, and hook trailers at dock doors; majority of freight is drop-and-hook with limited live loading/unloading
  • Communicate proactively with dispatch on delays, mechanical issues, or scheduling conflicts
  • Maintain accurate delivery/pickup documentation (BOLs, PODs)
  • Report safety concerns, accidents, or equipment issues immediately

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL-A license in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
  • Strong dock/spotting skills — comfortable with tight-quarters backing, multiple stops/shift
  • Clean MVR; current DOT medical certification
  • Experience with digital/ELD logging systems
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening

  • $30-$33 per hour · OT eligible
